SCOPE
Foodservice Renovation for:
Elementary School
Middle Schools
High School

A new elementary school included a foodservice and cafeteria service area to serve 750 students. The Summit Middle School project included a new kitchen and serving area for students in grades 6-7. The goal was to design a flagship, “special” building that looks inviting and not institutional. One area has a hot food station for traditional food items, the grill line has various wrapped hot sandwiches and the third area is an Italian Pizza station.

As students progressed into 8th-9th grades, the Johnston Middle School was renovated to give them the same exceptional dining experience they were accustomed to at Summit. Again, just as those same students entered Johnston High School, a renovation and expansion was completed for the serving area to accommodate 1,600 students in three shifts. We also provided The Food and Consumer Science Lab (FACS Lab) schematic design.
