We began the Master Planning process in 2007 for the Stanford Hospital & Clinics campus. The new campus foodservice design includes two new departments, one to serve the adult population and one to serve pediatrics.

The Stanford foodservice is in the new patient tower and is a split level department totaling approximately 27,000 square feet. The kitchen is on the lower level and is 16,000 square feet. The lobby level has 11,000 square feet for both serving and dining room. The department is sized to serve 600 licensed beds in a room service model split between the new tower and the existing hospital buildings. The retail is sized to serve 1,600 transactions at weekday lunch. The private dining room is an upscale white table cloth sit-down restaurant service planned for the third floor of the new Stanford Hospital, and features seating for 100 and an optional self-service buffet.

We designed the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital foodservice department on the other side of Stanford Hospital & Clinics to serve a 360 licensed bed pediatric specialty hospital. The retail is on the level above and is designed for 1,100 transactions at lunch. The kitchen is 9,000 square feet and retail is 11,000 square feet. The retail opens up to a beautiful open air dining terrace to bring the natural light and gardens into the space.
