Kettering Health Network has opened the new $135-million Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center designed by HOK to grow incrementally with a town square concept to keep pace with a fast growing area of Dayton, Ohio. The hospital opened in mid-February 2012 thanks to a streamlined 18-month construction process advanced through an integrated approach by the design and building team. After initial construction as a 105-bed hospital, the architectural design facilitates an expansion of up to 300 beds.

The kitchen is designed around a room service operation. Features include a Chef’s Special with display cooking, grill station, fresh pizza, soup & salad bar and snack area. We also designed a coffee bar for the medical office building adjoining the facility. The lobby features a two-story waterfall that drops into the dining facility on the lower level.

The 285,000-square-foot hospital will provide general acute care services for inpatient care. Outpatient services and additional medical offices will also be part of the Mills-Morgan Medical Campus.
